Born in San Francisco to Myra and George Paulsen, March 30, 1947. Mike entered into rest at Baylor Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas on September 27, 2018, having lost a gallant battle with cancer. Mike attended schools in South San Francisco, worked his way through Scouting and became an Eagle Scout. Mike honorably served in the US Army in South Vietnam, returned home where he began a stellar 33-year career with the San Francisco Police Department serving most of those years at Northern and Central Stations. He used his Veterans Benefits while working and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business at San Jose State. He was a member of the San Francisco Police Officer’s Associatio­n as well as being a long time member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Following retirement, Mike moved to Texas with his beloved wife, Laura, where through the PlanoRicha­rdson Elk’s Lodge, he chaired their Veteran’s Committee and volunteere­d at the Dallas Veteran’s Hospital. He was a life-long 49ers and SF Giants fan. He had a great sense of humor and an amazing gift for story telling. Mike was predecease­d by his parents, George and Myra Paulsen and is survived by his loving wife Laura; his brother, Bob; his son, Tim; his two standard poodles: Buster Posey and Willie Mays and many, many amazing friends. A Celebratio­n of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital are appreciate­d.
