Ge­orge passed away peace­fully at his home on Oc­to­ber 27, 2018 at the age of 86 with fam­ily by his side. Ge­orge was born on Novem­ber 16, 1931 in San Fran­cisco, CA. Beloved hus­band of Ju­nie Yee Chan for 66 years; fa­ther of Melinda Joy Chan and Craig Ran­dall Chan; son of the late Ge­orge P. Chan, Sr. and Mar­garet Lim Chan; brother of Pauline Rogers, Mar­jorie Cox, Fran­cis Chan, and the late Vir­ginia Kanistanaux; cher­ished grand­fa­ther of two and great-grand­fa­ther of two.

Ge­orge at­tended Com­merce High School and grad­u­ated in 1950. Ge­orge was an out­stand­ing Elec­tronic En­gi­neer dur­ing his 52 year ca­reer at two ma­jor com­pa­nies. He was also an out­stand­ing pro­fes­sional mu­si­cian who played piano. He formed his own combo called the “Blue Notes”. Peo­ple loved his mu­sic and he had a loyal fol­low­ing. He also vol­un­teered and per­formed for many char­ity fund rais­ing events. Ge­orge will be re­mem­bered by his many nieces and neph­ews as a great cook and for his love of giv­ing par­ties. He was al­ways gen­er­ous and ready to help when needed.
