Gor­don Walker Green­lee, 82, died peace­fully at his home on Novem­ber 19th. Gor­don was born in Oak­land, Cal­i­for­nia to Frederick and Roberta (Oliver) Green­lee. He was a sixth gen­er­a­tion Cal­i­for­nian, whose fam­ily set­tled in Cal­i­for­nia Pre-Gold Rush. Gor­don grew up in Pied­mont and re­ceived his BA from U.C. Berke­ley. He was a proud mem­ber of Beta Theta Pi and the Cal Rugby Team. Af­ter grad­u­a­tion, he served as 1st Lieu­tenant in the US Army from 1960-1964. Gor­don was an en­tre­pre­neur, start­ing Oc­ci­den­tal pa­per, then mov­ing onto The Brass­works. He was an avid boater and a found­ing mem­ber of the Lit­tle Venice Yacht Club. He cher­ished time at his fam­ily’s home in Lake Ta­hoe, rac­ing Gar Wood boats. He was a pas­sion­ate mem­ber of The Bo­hemian Club and an ar­dent Bear Backer; lov­ing his Cal Bears. Gor­don was known for his lively in­tel­lect, charis­matic wit and in­fec­tious smile.

Gor­don was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents and his brother, Oliver and his sis­ter, Betsy Wa­gener. He is sur­vived by his wife Lowry, his five chil­dren, Lisa (Steve Claw­son), Ge­off (So­nia), Phyl­lis (John Walker), Rob (Marisol), and Nick (Ni­cole), his grand­chil­dren, Syd­ney, Jus­tine, Jack­son and Carter, and his ca­nine com­pan­ion, Gus.

A pri­vate fam­ily cel­e­bra­tion of life will be held at a later date.
