Aurelio Leon

as a mechanic supervisor for the City and County of San Francisco, retiring in 2009. He was an active volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years, serving as a boating instructor, safety instructor and trainer, and participat­ing in rescue and emergency support. Aurelio was an acknowledg­ed expert in auto and truck mechanics. In his free time, he enjoyed boating and photograph­y. Aurelio was predecease­d by his parents, Florencio and Carmela Leon, and his brother, Antonio. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Reba, his sister Maria Kazan, his niece Julie Metcalf (David), sisterin-law Yvonne Garrett, brother-in-law Joe Garrett (Barbara), brother-in-law Michael Garrett (Debbie), and 4 nephews and 9 great-nieces and nephews. Family and friends remember Aurelio as an open-hearted, generous man, always ready to help, and with a warm sense of humor. Younger friends, in particular, remember him as a mentor and advisor.
