as a me­chanic su­per­vi­sor for the City and County of San Fran­cisco, re­tir­ing in 2009. He was an ac­tive vol­un­teer with the Coast Guard Aux­il­iary for many years, serv­ing as a boat­ing in­struc­tor, safety in­struc­tor and trainer, and par­tic­i­pat­ing in res­cue and emer­gency sup­port. Aure­lio was an ac­knowl­edged ex­pert in auto and truck me­chan­ics. In his free time, he en­joyed boat­ing and pho­tog­ra­phy. Aure­lio was pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, Floren­cio and Carmela Leon, and his brother, Antonio. He is sur­vived by his wife of 52 years, Reba, his sis­ter Maria Kazan, his niece Julie Met­calf (David), sis­terin-law Yvonne Gar­rett, brother-in-law Joe Gar­rett (Bar­bara), brother-in-law Michael Gar­rett (Deb­bie), and 4 neph­ews and 9 great-nieces and neph­ews. Fam­ily and friends re­mem­ber Aure­lio as an open-hearted, gen­er­ous man, al­ways ready to help, and with a warm sense of hu­mor. Younger friends, in par­tic­u­lar, re­mem­ber him as a men­tor and ad­vi­sor.
