Tips for a small garden

-

Miniature garden themes are as endless as one’s imagination. Here are a few tips for success:

 Find your theme: Tap into your passion, such as a circle filled with medicinal herbs, a dwarf conifer garden or a bromeliad and tillandsia garden. Or create a garden that reflects nature, such as a woodland garden, a tropical corner or even a filtered bed populated with shade-tolerant plants.

 Consider the look you’re after: Do you want it open or densely planted? Will you employ statuary, stones or other art?

 Factor in growth: When you choose the plants that will flesh out your theme, make sure to factor in the mature sizes of the perennials you’re installing. You might want to include a few annuals, as they can more quickly add color, texture or form to flesh out the theme.
