Margot L. Brubaker
Margot L. Brubaker, 75, of Lancaster, PA, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Arbor View at Willow Valley. Born in Oakland, CA, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Margaret Morrison Lasher. She was the wife of the late George Theodore Brubaker who died in 2006 with whom she celebrated 41 years of marriage.
Margot graduated from Anna Head School for Girls, Berkeley, CA, received a Bachelor of History from Connecticut College and a Master’s Degree in Reading from Millersville University. She was a reading specialist for the Penn Manor School District for over 18 years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Lancaster. She was Past President of the Board of the following organizations: Planned Parenthood, Friends of Atglen Susquehanna Trail, Preservation Trust of Lancaster County and volunteered for numerous other committees and boards.
Margot was devoted to her family and in particular her grandchildren and all of their interests and activities. She enjoyed her friends, the beach and reading and was a long time Hierophant member.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth “Betsy”, wife of John A. Duffy, III of Flourtown, PA, her son, Theodore L., husband of Stacey Morgan Brubaker and her four grandchildren: George, Griffith and Jane Brubaker and Joseph McGill. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean L. Gregory.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Margot’s Rite of Christian Burial at St. James Episcopal Church, 119 N. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be in Lititz Moravian Cemetery.
