Trail Blazers halt Rockets’ streak — and Harden’s

Portland’s Jusuf Nurkic had 25 points and 15 rebounds, and the host Trail Blazers snapped James Harden’s 40-point streak and the Houston Rockets’ six-game winning streak with a 110-101 victory on Saturday night.

Harden finished with 38 points, falling just short of his sixth straight game with 40 or more. CJ McCollum added 24 points and Damian Lillard finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Blazers, who have won three of their past four games.

Austin Rivers scored 21 points and Clint Capela had 13 points and 21 rebounds for the Rockets.

Portland led by as many as 16 points in the third quarter, but Harden started to show some life after a cold first half.

Gerald Green’s dunk got Houston within 88-83 early in the fourth but Nurkic’s layup pushed Portland’s lead to 97-85 with just under 6 minutes left.

After Harden collected his fourth foul, McCollum hit a long jumper to put Portland up 101-90 with 3:10 left. Evan Turner’s layup and free throw made it 106-95 and Moda Center fans started heading for the doors.

Spurs 108, Grizzlies 88: Derrick White scored 19 points, LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 and host San Antonio overcame a sluggish start to hand Memphis its fifth straight loss. San Antonio won for the 12th time in 15 games. Mike Conley had 21 points in 25 minutes for Memphis. Raptors 123, Bucks 116: Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam each scored 30 points and Serge Ibaka added 25 points and nine rebounds as visiting Toronto beat Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokoun­mpo had 43 points and 18 rebounds for the Bucks.

76ers 106, Mavericks 100: Joel Embiid had 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Ben Simmons added 20 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists as host Philadelph­ia beat Dallas to improve to 17-3 at home. Wesley Matthews had 18 points for the Mavericks.

Jazz 110, Pistons 105: Donovan Mitchell scored 24 of his 26 points in the second half, and visiting Utah rallied from an 18-point, second-quarter deficit to beat Detroit. Blake Griffin scored 34 points for the Pistons.

Nuggets 123, Hornets 110: Nikola Jokic scored 39 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, reserve Paul Millsap added 18 and Western Conference­leading Denver knocked off visiting Charlotte for its 10th straight home victory. Jokic added six assists, three steals and one blocked shot. Kemba Walker scored 20 points for the Hornets, and Bismack Biyombo had 16.

Pelicans 133, Cavaliers 98: Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle both scored 22 points, and visiting New Orleans handed Cleveland its ninth straight loss, the Cavaliers’ most lopsided of the season. Cleveland has lost six straight at home by a total of 141 points. Anthony Davis had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Pelicans.
