Christophe Gregoriante
January 1, 1927 - December 12, 2018
Chris Gregoriante passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 12th surrounded by his family.
Chris was born in Lyon, France and came to this country at the age of 23; having just got out of the French Army. He spent three years in the French Underground fighting the Germans in WWII. He went through a lot of hardships in the mountains such as living off of the airplanes that dropped K rations. At times, they were shot down and had to go without food for long periods of time. When they finally left the mountains he went into the Army until the liberation. At the time he had been one of the youngest members, being only 17 years old when he joined. He received several decorations for his bravery.
He worked at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco for 10 years and then together with his wife, owned and operated three successful restaurants until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Marian of 62 years, his brother Noel, his daughter Christine (Kiki), his granddaughter Brittney (and Jason) and other granddaughter Jennifer (and Miguel), great granddaughters Kendal and Emily, and many nieces and nephews. He loved cooking and entertaining his friends and family. He will be thoroughly missed.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, February 2nd 2019. Please contact Jennifer for more information at JLE590@ gmail.com.
