“Judge John Hodgman”: Comedian, actor and writer Hodgman is joined by “Bullseye” podcast host Jesse Thorn (his bailiff ) to weigh real-life disputes from their fans. They’re joined by musical guest Martin Luther McCoy. Thorn returns the next Sunday, Jan. 20, for a recording of the comedy podcast “Jordan, Jesse, Go!”

Celebrity Autobiogra­phy: What would Sketchfest be without comedians and actors reading from other celebritie­s’ work in this award-winning show? This year’s scheduled performers are Cristela Alonzo, Ed Begley Jr., Jennifer Coolidge, Laraine Newman, Michael Hitchcock, Michael McKean and creators Dayle Reyfel and Eugene Pack.

Salute to Bill Plympton: One of the greatest living animators, Plympton has been producing entertaini­ng and thought-provoking indie classics for decades. Sketchfest has invited him for an afternoon of film screenings, drawings and Q&A.

Porchlight: A Storytelli­ng Series: We’re calling Beth Lisick and Arline Klatt legends, for bringing this longrunnin­g and groundbrea­king series to San Francisco, and helping to jumpstart storytelli­ng as entertainm­ent in the city.

The music

Wajatta with Reggie Watts and John Tejada: Comedian and beat-boxer Watts teamed with DJ/producer Tejada to start this new group, which released the album “Casual High Technology.” Watts has been a Sketchfest regular over the years, with eclectic and consistent­ly entertaini­ng shows.

The Red Room Orchestra performs the music of “Twin Peaks”: San Francisco native Marc Capelle gathers another collection of all-star musicians for a night of music highlighti­ng the soundtrack to David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” (and later during Sketchfest: “The Big Lebowski.”) Special guests include Margaret Cho, “Twin Peaks” cast member James Marshall and Lynch musical collaborat­or Chrysta Bell.

The locals

Tribute to Margaret Cho: The San Francisco native has brought her life growing up in the Bay Area into her stand-up comedy. Cho has always been welcomed back with enthusiasm by local crowds, but this tribute will be special. Moderated by another San Francisco stalwart, longtime Chronicle columnist Ben Fong-Torres.

Brent Weinbach: Weinbach is a legend in local comedy. The UC Berkeley graduate was a local comedy force in the early 2000s, before honing his act and becoming successful as a national touring standup comic. He returns for a show with twin brothers Max and Nicky Weinbach, who also perform solo during the festival.

8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10. $25. Gateway Theatre, 215 Jackson St., S.F.

“We Bare Bears” in the Bay Area: This Emmy-nominated animated series is sweet, funny and hella Bay Area. A recent “We Bare Bears” episode focused all of its action in a BART tunnel. Creator Daniel Chong is coming to Sketchfest, along with voice actor Bobby Moynihan and head writer Mikey Heller. An all-new episode will be screened at the festival.

The what the ... ?

Sketchfest at the Speakeasy: This new pricey and immersive comedy experience is being described as a “choose-your-own-adventure book” of an event. There are multiple rooms, a Prohibitio­n vibe, and establishe­d comedians participat­ing on different nights, including Janeane Garofalo, Jen Kirkman and David Cross.

S— Arcade: Video game critics and comedians play and discuss some of the worst video games of all time in front of a live audience. Mike Drucker hosts, and guests include “The Daily Show” writer Kat Radley and actor Paul Scheer.
