Don (Deonne) Thomas Burdusis

It is with great sadness that the family of Don Burdusis announce his passing on January 8, 2019 at the age of 74. Preceded in death by his father Thomas, his mother Catherine and by his first wife Linda. Don will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Pamela Burdusis and his children Stacie (Scott), Matt (Donna) and Jeremy. Don will also be fondly remembered by his grandchild­ren Christophe­r, Alyssa and Ryan. Will be greatly missed by his faithful companion Tziki (Tzatziki). Further survived by many family members and friends. Born on December 30, 1944, Don was raised in San Francisco. Don joined The Olympic Club as a child, enjoyed the sporting activities and developed a large group of friends as a result of lifetime membership. Don graduated from St. Ignatius High School before moving on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Southern California. Don cherished his time at USC. Many can attest to his love of USC Football and the Trojan Marching Band. With his uncle Peter Tripp and cousin James Cois, Don ran a successful insurance business in the East Bay for over 35 years. Don achieved a long sought after goal by completing his Law degree in his 50s. Active in the community, Don served as a little league coach, a member of the Oakland Jaycees, the Alameda County Planning Commission and on the parish council of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension. Don was a resident of Pleasanton, California for over 40 years before recently moving to Novato, California. Don loved to travel, celebrate his Greek heritage and entertain family and friends with his great sense of humor. He will be missed by all.

A Trisagion will be held at 7pm on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension located at 4700 Lincoln Avenue in Oakland, California. Funeral service will be held at 10am on January 19 at the Ascension Cathedral. Interment will follow at Oakmont Memorial Park in Pleasant Hill.
