MICK LASALLE’S MOVIE PICK

-

This event promises to be an odd screening of the third and final installment of the “Fifty Shades” trilogy. Comedian Doug Benson and his friends will sit in the front row of the Castro and make fun of the movie as it plays.

“Fifty Shades Freed” is the ideal candidate for this treatment in that it has a lot to make fun of and yet it’s a pretty good movie, anyway. So the movie won’t suffer for being mocked, and the audience won’t suffer for having to watch it.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson play the highly photogenic young lovers.

The roast is being presented as part of the 18th annual SF Sketchfest.

The Benson Movie Interruption: “Fifty Shades Freed”:

4:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13. $25. Castro Theatre. 429 Castro St. San Francisco. https:// www.sfsketchfest.com
