Blue Devils handle Cavs

RJ Barrett scored 26 points, Zion Williamson had 18 and No. 2 Duke used an early barrage of 3-pointers to stun No. 3 Virginia and then held off the host Cavaliers 81-71 on Saturday night.

Barrett hit his first five tries from 3-point range for the Blue Devils (21-2, 9-1 ACC). His fifth one gave them a 29-15 lead after less than 12 minutes of play. Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome each scored 16 to lead Virginia (20-2, 8-2).

#1 Tennessee 73, Florida 61: Grant Williams scored 16 points as the host Volunteers (22-1, 10-0 SEC) extended their school-record winning streak to 18 games, the longest active run in Division I.

#5 Kentucky 71, Mississipp­i State 67: PJ Washington scored 23 points for the visiting Wildcats (20-3, 9-1 SEC), who have won 10 straight.

#6 Nevada 91, New Mexico 62: Trey Porter had 20 points and nine rebounds for the host Wolf Pack (23-1, 10-1 Mountain West), who lost their first meeting with the Lobos.

#7 Michigan 61, #19 Wisconsin 52: Jon Teske had 17 points and 12 rebounds, holding his own inside against Ethan Happ, and Charles Matthews scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half to lift the Big Tenleading Wolverines (22-2, 11-2). Happ had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the visiting Badgers (17-7, 9-4), whose six-game winning streak was snapped.

#8 North Carolina 88, Miami 85: Kenny Williams hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:08 left in overtime and freshman Coby White had 33 points for the host Tar Heels (19-4, 9-1 ACC).

#9 Michigan State 79, Minnesota 55: Nick Ward had 22 points and Matt McQuaid scored 18 as the host Spartans (19-5, 10-3 Big Ten) ended a three-game losing streak, their longest skid in two years.

#10 Marquette 66, #14 Villanova 65: Markus Howard scored 38 points and the host Golden Eagles (20-4, 9-2 Big East) hung on at the buzzer against the the Wildcats (19-5, 10-1).

Clemson 59, #11 Virginia Tech 51: Shelton Mitchell hit five 3-pointers and scored 22 points as the host Tigers (15-8, 7-4 ACC) won their fourth straight. The Hokies (18-5, 7-4 ACC) have lost consecutiv­e games for the first time this season.

#13 Kansas 84, Oklahoma State 72: Dedric Lawson scored 25 points and Ochai Agbaji added 23 for the host Jayhawks (18-6, 7-4 Big 12).

#15 Purdue 81, Nebraska 62: In Indianapol­is, Carsen Edwards scored 27 points and Grady Eifert added 16 as the Boilermake­rs (17-6, 10-2 Big Ten) rebounded from a lackluster first half to win their eighth straight game.

#22 Florida St. 80, #16 Louisville 75: Mfiondu Kabengele scored 22 points and the host Seminoles (18-5, 6-4 ACC) erased a 10-point secondhalf deficit to force overtime, then knocked off the Cardinals (17-7, 8-3).

TCU 92, #17 Iowa State 83: Kendric Davis scored 22 points, and the Horned Frogs (17-6, 5-5 Big 12) got their first road win over a top-25 team in 21 years. Marial Shayok’s 24 points led the Cyclones (18-6, 7-4).

#18 Texas Tech 66, Oklahoma 54: Davide Moretti had 14 points for the visiting Red Raiders (19-5, 7-4 Big 12).

#21 LSU 83, Auburn 78: Tremont Waters had 19 points and 10 assists for the host Tigers (19-4, 9-1 SEC).

#23 Buffalo 90, Central Michigan 76: Jeremy Harris had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the host Bulls (20-3, 8-2 Mid-American).

Washington State 69, Arizona 55: Robert Franks scored 34 points and the visiting Cougars (10-14, 3-8 Pac-12) ended a 13-game losing streak against the Wildcats.

Arizona State 75, Washington 63: Romello White scored 17 points and the host Sun Devils (16-7, 7-4 Pac-12) beat the Huskies (19-5, 10-1).

Colorado 69, USC 65: McKinley Wright, who had 20 points, scored on two key drives in the closing minutes and added eight rebounds to lead the visiting Buffaloes (14-9, 5-6 Pac-12) to their third straight win.

Utah 93, UCLA 92: Parker Van Dyke hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, completing a 22-point comeback for the visiting Utes (13-10, 7-4 Pac-12). Jaylen Hands scored 27 points for the Bruins (12-12, 5-6).

Women’s top 10: Kalani Brown scored 32 points as No. 1 Baylor stretched its Big 12 winning streak to 34 with an 89-71 victory over visiting TCU . ... Napheesa Collier tied a season-high with 30 points and had 14 rebounds, leading No. 5 UConn to a 109-74 rout of visiting Temple.
