Why celebrate Valentine’s Day when you can make a whole weekend out of it?

SFJazz brings in a trio of powerful female vocalists for a string of romantic shows stretching from Thursday, Feb. 14, through Sunday, Feb. 17.

The Grammy-nominated Spanish singer Buika, who has been heralded as the queen of flamenco fusion, headlines the Miner Auditorium all four nights with a set that blends traditional Spanish coplas and gypsy arrangements with jazz improvisation.

Oakland soul singer and music educator Lilan Kane delivers classic love songs in the Joe Henderson Lab on Thursday and follows it with her tribute to Ella Fitzgerald on Friday; while the Bay Area R&B icon the Dynamic Miss Faye Carol takes over the Lab with torch songs and blues on Saturday and Sunday.
