San Francisco Chronicle - (Sunday)
The locals
CHELSEA PERETTI
The Oakland native and former “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star could qualify for either of the previous categories — as a comic’s comic or big name. Her approach is very much like hanging out with your s—-talking best friend at brunch, with a lot of observational humor while turning social niceties on their head.
6:45-7:45 p.m. Saturday, June 22. Bill Graham Stage. 9:45 p.m. Saturday, June 22. Larkin Comedy Club.
IRENE TU
AND ANDREW OROLFO
Stalwarts on the Bay Area comedy scene in recent years as performers and producers, Orolfo and Tu (who recently moved to Los Angeles) are both very likable presences onstage. Both are participating in the Asian AF show, with Sheng Weng, Robin Tran and special guest Fred Armisen.
7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23. Colossal Stage.
GUY BRANUM
The UC Berkeley graduate began his comedy and hosting career in the Bay Area before showing up in everything on TV for the past decade, from “Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell” to “Chelsea Lately.” A sharp, self-deprecating (and stealthily socially conscious) comedian, Branum is scheduled to perform Friday night with Whitney Cummings, and also participate in Sunday’s “Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion” live reading with Peaches Christ.
10-11 p.m. Friday, June 21.
