SAN FRANCISCO

Maicie Levitt (St. Ignatius): The senior shortstop earned first-team All-West Catholic Athletic League for the second consecutiv­e year after leading the Wildcats in hitting (.439), runs (24), hits (29) and RBIs (16). After slugging eight home runs as a junior, Levitt was often pitched around and carried a .513 on-base percentage. One of the top defensive players in the league, Levitt made just four errors. In her four-year career, Levitt hit .384 with 103 hits, 93 runs, 56 RBIs, 13 home runs and 18 doubles.

PENINSULA/SOUTH BAY

Megan Grant (Aragon-San Mateo): Only a freshman but already committed to UCLA, the 5-foot-9 shortstop and third baseman led the Central Coast Section in home runs (13) and RBIs (51) while leading the Dons to their first section crown. Grant hit home runs in her first seven games and finished 42-for-84 (.500) with 33 runs, 17 walks, a 1.119 slugging percentage and a 1.703 OPS.

NORTH BAY

Julia Scardina (Marin Catholic-Kentfield): The senior shortstop and Utah commit hit .671 with 13 home runs, 10 doubles and 55 RBIs for the North Coast Section’s Division 3-champion Wildcats (25-1). Scardina had 47 hits in 70 at-bats and 19 walks to give her a .742 on-base percentage. The Marin County Athletic League Player of the Year homered in the semifinals and finals of the NCS playoffs.

EAST BAY

Elizabeth Avery (Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland): The 5-9 Boston University commit did it all for the NCS Division 2-champion Dragons (20-4), going 19-4 with a 0.77 ERA while striking out 297 in 1542⁄3 innings. She also hit .525 with eight home runs, 14 doubles, 31 runs and 23 RBIs. She struck out at least 10 in 19 appearance­s, including 22 in a 10-inning, 1-0 win over Castro Valley. In one sixgame stretch starting May 1, she struck out 103 and did not allow a run.
