San Bruno police have arrested two teenagers in connection with Tuesday afternoon’s shooting at the Shops at Tanforan mall in San Bruno, and have identified a third who was still at large Saturday morning, officers said.

Deandre Lejon Gantt, 18, of San Francisco is sought as one of the shooters who fired a handgun toward another group during a dispute in the bustling mall, said San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini. Four people were injured, including two teens who sustained nonlifethreatening gunshot wounds.

On Saturday, San Bruno detectives arrested a 16yearold shooting suspect and a 15yearold boy who had “acted in concert with the shooter,” and they served search warrants on two San Francisco residences, Barberini said.

Police found a handgun they believe was used in the shooting during the search of a BayviewHunters Point residence, but Barberini said police must confirm that through forensic testing.

Barberini warned that police have not recovered the second handgun used in the shooting and believe Gantt is probably armed.

Both teens were booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center on attempted murder and conspiracy charges. Because they are juveniles, police did not release their names.

Officials declined to provide details on the 15yearold boy’s alleged involvement in the shooting but said investigators recovered evidence suggesting he worked with the shooter. It’s

unclear whether the shooting was premeditated or sparked after the two groups encountered each other in the mall, police said.

“We have an idea how the dispute started, and it’s relatively minor by an average person’s standards,” Barberini said at a Saturday morning news conference. “We believe this incident generated from a dispute between two groups of people, and the two shooters were shooting at each other, or their opposite groups.”

The two shooting victims, whose names have not been released, are expected to fully recover, police said. Barberini told reporters that he would “not describe their involvement here as being completely cooperative” with the investigation.
