EASIER TO FIND YOUR WAY

Navigating easily through the airport also contributes to SFO’s goal to make travel easier and more enjoyable. With the opening of Harvey Milk Terminal 1, the airport will launch a new gate numbering system that will make it easier for guests to find their way. The emphasis of the new gate numbering system is the logical sequential reveal of gate numbers as guests move through the airport, from checkin, to security, to gate. This new gate numbering system will be implemented airportwide at SFO, making connections between terminals more intuitive and logical.

Newlydesigned information dashboards, located strategically throughout the boarding area, will provide easytoread information on flight times, gates, and nearby amenities.

CONCESSIONS WITH A SAN FRANCISCO TWIST

SFO strives to deliver a uniquely San Francisco and Northern California sense of place in its terminals, and Harvey Milk Terminal 1 is no exception. The first section will open on July 23 with six new food and beverage and three retail concepts located in an inviting and easytofind marketplace corridor. Locallysourced concessions will include Amy’s Drive Thru, Bourbon Pub, Bun Mee and the Little Chihuahua. The terminal will also feature brands familiar to our global audience, such as illy Caffè.

For those who wish to be connected and productive, there is free high speed WiFi and hundreds of power outlets in the first ninegate section. Traveling out of Harvey Milk Terminal 1 includes a better experience for checked baggage. SFO is the first airport in the United States to install a totebased Independent Carrier System (ICS) to handle checked baggage. The system ensures that each bag is placed in an individually controlled tote, which it remains in from ticket counter checkin, through security screening and out to its collection point for loading with 100% tracking and traceability all along the way.
