Khudobin, Stars take 31 lead in West finals

Anton Khudobin made three of his 32 saves on a crucial 5on3 penalty kill late, former Sharks captain Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn scored in the second period and the Dallas Stars are a victory away from the Stanley Cup Finals after beating the Vegas Golden Knights 21 on Saturday in Edmonton, Alberta.

Dallas pushed Vegas to the brink of eliminatio­n despite being outshot 3320. The Stars have 67 shots to the Golden Knights’ 105, yet lead the bestofseve­n series 31. Lou Lamoriello of the New York Islanders is the winner of the Jim Gregory general manager of the year award. The Carolina Hurricanes parted ways with defenseman Joel Edmundson after one season, trading his free agent rights to the Montreal Canadiens for a fifthround draft pick.

Saints, Kamara agree on new deal

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara agreed to a fiveyear, $75 million extension through 2025, $50 million of which is guaranteed. The Minnesota Vikings signed running back Dalvin Cook to a fiveyear, $63 million contract extension. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp agreed to a threeyear contract extension through 2023 with the Los Angeles Rams.

Golf: Brooke Henderson tied the ANA Inspiratio­n record with a 30 on the front nine under temperatur­es that crossed 100 degrees and settled for a 7underpar 65 and a share of the lead with Nelly Korda (71) at 12under 204 at the LPGA major in Rancho Mirage (Riverside County).

They will be joined in the final group by Katherine Kirk (67), who is two shots behind. Also two behind were Mirim Lee (71) and Lexi Thompson (69). Steve Stricker, who posted a 6under 64, and Miguel Angel Jimenez (66) shared the lead at 9under 131 going into the final round of the PGA Tour Champions’ Sanford Internatio­nal at Sioux Falls, S.D., with Fred Couples (64), Darren Clarke (62) and Kevin Sutherland (64) a shot behind.

WNBA: In Bradenton, Fla., A’ja Wilson scored 19 points and the Las Vegas Aces (174) beat the

Los Angeles Sparks 8470 to clinch a toptwo finish and a doublebye into the playoff semifinals . ... Motor sports: Brad Keselowski advanced to the second round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, winning at Richmond (Va.) Raceway.

Keselowski led a racehigh 192 of the 400 laps and gave Team Penske a sweep of the day — Will Power won for the IndyCar arm of the organizati­on earlier Saturday at MidOhio.

Power beat teammate Josef Newgarden, the reigning IndyCar champion, by more than 7 seconds in winning from the pole.

Cycling: Stage 14 of the Tour de France, which took a direct 120mile route eastward off the Massif Central region down toward Lyon, was sealed by a decisive burst by Denmark’s Soren Kragh Andersen. Overall leader Primoz Roglic had a dramafree, 4½hour ride to keep the yellow jersey he claimed last Sunday.
