Dominic passed away on December 17, 2020 at the age of 90. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 9, 1930 to Alberto and Maria Granelli, brother to Sergio ( deceased) and Al ( deceased). He is preceded in death by his wife Elena, the love of his life of over 61 years. Beloved father to Deb Robbins ( Ron), Ken ( Kelly), and Mike ( Sue). Cherished grandfathe­r to Nicole ( Manuel), Renée, Valerie, Tony ( April), Joe, Zach and Dante, and greatgrand­father to Dominic. Dominic moved to San Francisco when he was 15, where he attended Galileo Academy of Science and Technology High School. After he graduated in 1947, he became an apprentice carpenter before getting drafted to serve in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. In 1957, he started his own business, Granelli Constructi­on Co. as a general contractor and was a master craftsman. While raising their family in San Francisco, they belonged to St. Cecilia Parish where they became involved in many activities. He built the “Pan Game” for the parish festival which is still the most popular game. Dominic and his family enjoyed many vacations in Sonoma, Lake Tahoe and Reno where he loved going to the casino and playing golf. He loved playing the accordion and belonged to the San Francisco Accordion Club.

Dominic was also a member of the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club, where he enjoyed meals with his friends every month. He also enjoyed playing Pedro with his friends at church. Most of all, he loved hosting Christmas for the last 45 years with his extended family, serving up his famous homemade ravioli. As a true Italian, he always loved a good glass of red wine and a big bowl of pasta! Dominic was truly one of a kind; Always willing to lend a hand and always had the right answers.

A private service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery and a Celebratio­n of Life will be held at a later date with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Associatio­n and the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice in his memory.
