Edwin John Krause
May 20, 1932 - January 2, 2021
Edwin passed away at age 88 on January 2, 2021 peacefully at home in Rocklin CA after 11 months of hospice care. Ed was born in Granville, WI on May 20, 1932, the seventh and youngest child of Maria and Immanuel Krause. Ed grew up in the East Bay, attending Alameda High School. He met his wife of 67 years, Cecile Holl, in Alameda, and were married on April 24, 1954. Ed was a Navy veteran of the Korean war. Ed and Cecile raised their four children in San Leandro and Alameda. Ed is survived by his wife, Cecile, and their four children Mindy (Jon Bergeron), Philip, Heidi (John Anderson) and Paul (Annie Ginocchio). Ed is also survived by eight grandchildren (Jenna, Harold, Alanna, Nels, Courtney,
Carly, Kyle and Quincy). Ed was the owner of Stero-Clor Chemical Company for many years where he forged many business relationships within the SF Bay Area. Ed enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, relatives and friends in the Mt. Shasta area of Northern California. After living in Alameda for most of their marriage, Ed and Cecile moved to the Springfield retirement community in Rocklin CA for the past 17 years where they formed many friendships and engaged with other seniors in weekly dinners and travel. We will miss Ed greatly but will remember him forever for his support, generosity and kindness. Due to COVID a private memorial service will be held later.
