William R. Loveless

William Roland Loveless passed peacefully from natural causes at his home in San Francisco last Saturday. He was born in Corning N.Y. to Mildred DeWitt Loveless and Roland Loveless. He is predecease­d by his sister Ann Sweigart.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Barbara Healey Loveless, brother-in-law Jack Healey (Sharyl) and nieces and nephews.

Bill grew up in Corning N.Y., where he was an Eagle Scout and attended Northside High School. He attended University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He joined the US Air Force and served for three years before finishing his undergrad degree at UC Berkeley in Business, then he went on to Boalt Hall, law school in Berkeley where he received his LL.B. Degree.

Bill developed a strong interest and an instinctiv­e aptitude in finance while working at Smith Barney.

He later became the owner and principal of Loveless & Co. Investment Management Inc. in San Francisco. He retired in 2011 after enjoying a long and successful career as an Investment Counselor.

Bill was a member of the San Francisco Olympic Club and the St. Francis Yacht Club. He enjoyed sailing, rowing, painting scenic views, and playing the piano.

He will be fondly remembered for his intellect, kindness, keen wit, unique sense of humor and inner strength, and his penchant of a vodka martini at dinner time.

At Bill’s request, there will be no funeral. Donations in his honor may be made to an organizati­on of your choice.
