Our beloved and everplayful Tom (“Tomasso”) Lazore of Folsom CA died peacefully on March 4, 2021. He was 76 and passed away surrounded by family at home after battling a return bout of cancer with complications, which hospitalized him in recent weeks. Born in San Francisco to Arthur (Archie) and Silvia (Caroline) Lazore (both deceased), he graduated from Corpus Christi Grammar School, attended Riordan High School, and graduated from Balboa High School in 1963.

Tom excelled as an “AllCity” baseball player in high school and continued his love of the game and sports throughout his life. Tom graduated from San Francisco City College in 1965 and attended San Francisco State University for two years before accepting a job at Gallo. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Tom was the beloved husband of Sherry Lassalle Lazore for 38 years; the fun-loving brother in law to Barbara and Jack Watson of Novato, CA; Denise and Dave Lassalle Hartley of Folsom CA; and Bob and Lynn Lassalle-Klein of Alameda, CA; and the cherished uncle of eight nephews and nieces and their families.

A 36-year veteran of the wine and spirits business as a salesman and manager, Tom retired as a Vice-President at Young’s Market Company where he enjoyed many life-long friendships. He felt fortunate to have travelled the world through business and retirement with Sherry to Egypt, Europe, Russia, Hawaii, Mexico, and Palm Springs. Tom and Sherry enjoyed his 15 years of retirement in Folsom CA, playing golf at Serrano Golf and Country Club in El Dorado Hills, in the company of many friends. He also had the time to pursue a life-long passion for Egyptology. The Good Shepherd Elementary School-Santa Cruz golf team is dedicating their season to their long-standing benefactors, Tom and Sherry Lazore. Tom’s generous nature and unique sense of humor stayed with him to the end. At Mercy Hospital in Folsom a few days before he died, when the nurse gave him a nice shave, he told Sherry, “Give her a good tip!”

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mass and celebration of Tom’s life will be postponed to a future date. Donations in Tom’s name may be made to Vitas Hospice of Sacramento (https:// vitascommunityconnection. org), or Wounded Paw Project (www.woundedpawproject.org).
