Cathy Collins passed away peacefully on March 1st 2021. A proud San Francisco native, Alice was born on September 9th, 1927 to the late Frank Tognotti and Alice Conklin. Growing up in the Ingleside District, Alice’s love of sports started at an early age, playing ball as a youth, coaching the “Baby Seals” baseball team (which was a team made up of sons of major league Seals players) as she got older, she played for the Fort Wayne Daisies of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League beginning with the 1946 season and was entered into the Women’s Baseball Hall of Fame. In 1951, Alice found herself in Japan as a member of WACS, for a two year term. Once stateside, Alice started a long career with the City of San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and coached bowlers on the San Francisco Special Olympic Teams.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Pagliaro and husband Vince, grandsons Graham Pagliaro (Laura), Ian Pagliaro (Jessica), three great granddaughters,

Lennon Belle, Hazel Winter and Juniper Jane, sister inlaw Marie Aiello Tognotti, nephews Frank Tognotti (Nicole), Michael Tognotti (Cynthia), nieces Robbe Mc Alexander, Francine Tognotti and Jacqueline Paradine (Jeff) and many grand nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her loving brothers Frank and Bill and is more than likely sitting at their table, all talking over each other.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Blind Vietnamese Children’s Foundation or the San Francisco Special Olympics.
