Teresa Angela Kangas of San Carlos, CA peacefully passed away on March 12, 2021 at the age of 67. Teresa was born on December 16, 1953 in St. Allbans, England to Mary and Wilbur Cornelius. Her father was stationed in England with the U.S. Air Force. The family soon traveled on to bases in Las Vegas, the Philippine­s and Florida where she started high school. Finally transferre­d back to England, Teresa graduated from Lakenheath American High School.

The family returned to the US where Teresa enrolled at UC Davis majoring in English Literature while working part time at the Nut Tree in Vacaville. She later moved to San Francisco where she worked in Group and Convention Marketing for a major hotel.

In 1982 she met her future husband Stan Kangas at a golf tournament at the Olympic Club where he was playing in a charity event and she was welcoming players with tee prizes. It was love at first sight for both of them. They were married in 1984 under a beloved oak tree in the backyard of the home they had purchased in San Carlos.

Teresa and Stan were members of Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae where she was Ladies Captain in 1993. They also had a home in Palm Desert where they were members of Desert Falls Country Club. Teresa and Stan loved to travel and went on many cruises including the South Pacific, the Amazon River and many trips to British Isles and Europe. Teresa had a fondness of all birds and animals and was a member of the Audubon Society and was a supporter of the Peninsula SPCA. She was an avid reader and was always excited when the Jeopardy answers involved literature.

Teresa is survived by her husband Stan, her stepdaught­er Patricia Walker of Lake Forest, Illinois and her children Andrew, Kirstyn and Elena, her sister Susan McCoy from Crescent City, CA, her sister Patricia Cornelius of Sacramento, her sister Linda Raigoza from Grass Valley, CA, and her brother Gary Cornelius also from Grass Valley, CA and eight nieces and nephews.

Teresa will be laid to rest at a private ceremony in San Mateo, CA. Donations to the Audubon Society or the Peninsula SPCA are appreciate­d.
