Tomas Aindrias O’Shea was born on November 28, 1930 in Annascaul, County Kerry, Ireland. Tomas went to Our Lord on March 18, 2021 in Santa Rosa, California. Tomas emigrated from Ireland to Oakland, California on April 1, 1955. He was sponsored by his uncle Mike Kennedy.Tomas was drafted into the US Army December 1955. He used the GI Bill to obtain a Bachelors & Masters in Business Administra­tion.Tomas married Breda Brosnan on October 12, 1957. They celebrated more than 63 years of marriage. Tomas became a naturalize­d citizen on August 19, 1960. Tomas & Breda have three children: Maureen O’Shea, Michael O’Shea, and Anne Levy. Tomas was preceded in death by his parents Bridget (nee Kennedy) and Padraig O’Shea; siblings Sean O’Shea (Kitty), Maureen Forristal (Eamon), Martin O’Shea, and Paudie O’Shea. Tomas is survived by his wife Breda, his three children, grandson Brendan Ballaire, grandchild­ren Taylor Levy, Ryan Levy, and siblings Eileen Moriarty, Brendan O’Shea, and Michael O’Shea (Bernadette). Tomas retired in October 1992 from University of California Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Prior to that he worked many years for Moore Business Forms. Upon retirement Tomas moved to Sebastopol, California. Tomas & Breda enjoyed many vacations and elder hostel tours including a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Places they visited include: Ireland, England, New Zealand, Australia, Nova Scotia,

New England to see the fall colors, Hawaii, and the Grand Canyon. A train trip across Canada was done over two summers. Cruises included 30-days on the Mediterran­ean, the inside passage to Alaska, and a Danube River Cruise. Tomas & Breda enjoyed many years of square dancing both in the Bay Area and Santa Rosa, long walks to and through Ragle Park, and hosting coffee after mass for many of their friends and neighbors. Tomas volunteere­d in various capacities at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church, and as treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years. Tomas was a favorite and loved by many. He was kind, good, loving, and funny. He was a family man and cared deeply for everyone. This quote was found after his passing written in his writing: “I expect to pass through this life but once. If there is any kindness I can show or good I can do, Let me do it now. For I shall not pass this way again”. Author Stephen Grellet.
