Lucius Levitt Deason, Jr., affectionately known as Bud, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 13, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife, Jeanette, and his children.

Bud was born on February 8, 1943, in San Francisco, CA, to Lucius and Delma (Buscaglia) Deason. He attended Balboa High school, where he made many lifelong friends. In 1974 he moved to Novato and started Deason Tile Company. A proud member of BAC Local 3 for nearly 50 years, he built his reputation on honesty, integrity, and hard work. He retired in 2013 and passed the business to his son.

Bud enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, Jeanette, friends, and his ever-expanding, blended family. He was an avid runner who never missed a Bay to Breakers race, where he eventually met his devoted wife, Jeanette. His passions also included scuba diving, vacations with the Mag 7, taking trips to NASCAR races with his friend Larry Langston, and restoring vintage cars. He was an active life-long member of the Marin Coupe and Roadster Club and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), Marin Lodge 200.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette, his son, Brian (Tina), his daughter, Michelle (Chris Abell), his stepsons Brian Rasmussen (Shelby) and Robert Rasmussen (Kelly), and his cousin, Diane (Tony Carney). He was a proud Papa to fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them and provide support at their activities and events. We will miss him dearly and cherish many happy memories of our time together.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please consider a donation in Bud’s name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, www.michaeljfox.org.
