SFMOMA plans online Art Bash with big names
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art transformed its signature Art Bash into four days of (mostly) free virtual events that will give participants a view into the world of arts innovators starting Monday, April 12.
Festivities kick off with OffWhite fashion designer and Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh, above, who is set to be in conversation with Moved by the Motion “art band” collaborators Tosh Basco, Josh Johnson, Asma Maroof and Wu Tsang. The event series wraps up Thursday with a concert and dance party, streaming live from the museum, juxtaposing music by Tycho, the Younger Lovers and Lower Grand Radio DJs against iconic visual works.
Art Bash is usually one of the raucous and outofthebox museum events of the spring: The virtual offering has big shoes to fill, but big names are a good start.
SFMOMA Art Bash: Virtual event series. Monday-Thursday, April 12-15. Free; donations required for certain events. Full programming schedule and more information at https://artbash. sfmoma.org/
Opera San José. Available to stream 6 p.m. Thursday, April 15. $15-$40. www.operasj. org
