Robert Carl Spirz

-

Bob passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2021. Bob was born November 24, 1933 to the late Margaret Mellor Spirz and Carl Spirz. Bob always spoke fondly of growing up South of Market on Langton St. in a triplex surrounded by his grandmother Frieda, and aunt & uncle Maggie & Ted Spirz. He is predeceased by his stepfather Ben Mellor. Bob was a well respected general engineering contractor for over 50 years. No project was too small or big for Bob, working throughout the entire Bay Area.

Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Ann of nearly 50 years on September 27, 2020, just 6 months ago.

Bob is survivied by his children Colleen Meisenbach (Harold), Carl Spirz (Theresa), and Brenda Spirz; Ann’s children Marc Reynolds (Toni), Denise Edwards (Ross), and Karen Reynolds; grandchildren Jerimiah & Kay Meisenbach, Christopher & Kelsey Spirz, Morgan & Luke Edwards, Danielle & Nicole Reynolds; great-grandchildren Hailey, Khloe, Seth Meisenbach, and Kaytlin Eremeyeff; aunt

Delores Wingett.

Bob always enjoyed gathering for meals and celebrating with family and friends. It’s probably fair to say he tolerated his children and loved his grandchildren. Bob spent a lot of time working on some “Big Deals”. Bob was also a champion of good causes, and we feel a good cause is Archbishop Riordan High School, Tyrone L. McGraw Scholarship, 175 Frida Kahlo Way, San Francisco, CA 94112.

A private service was held by family members at Olivet Memorial Park, Colma.
