Virtuosic duo is part of return of music to Yoshi’s

- — Anne Schrager

Yoshi’s, the popular East Bay nightclub and restaurant, is finally reopened after a lengthy pandemicinduced hiatus. The venue is currently offering free live performances Thursdays through Sundays for patrons with dinner reservations.

The performance slate features the virtuosic duo of Rob Reich and bassist Daniel Fabricant on Friday, May 7. Reich, who in August released an album featuring clarinetist Ben Goldberg, Fabricant and others, has gained praise for his facility as an accordion player with the highly lauded Tin Hat Trio, local favorite Circus Bella and other projects.

The venue unveiled a newly designed stage inside the dining area, as COVID restrictions keep its traditional performance space offlimits. Take this opportunity to enjoy sushi and music from some of the brightest local musicians.

Rob Reich/Daniel Fabricant Jazz Duo: 6 p.m. Friday, May 7 and 28. Free with dinner reservations. Yoshi’s, 510 Embarcadero West, Oakland. 510-238-9200.
