Early Guests are Loving Ka’anapali Beach Resort’s Updates and New Arrivals

-

Anyone familiar with Maui’s Ka’anapali Beach Resort will tell you that “slowing down” over the past year was the last thing on the minds of property and amenity managers. Quieter times provided the local hospitality industry to get busy with renovations so extensive that the entire community has been reimagined with updates and innovations. There’s even a new catamaran for our sunset sailings. What hasn’t changed is the sublime Maui climate, friendly community, and, according to TripAdvisor, the “9th Best Beach in the World.”

New nonstop direct routes are taking flight from Austin, San Diego, and other cities. Upon arrival guests will enjoy Ka’anapali Beach Resort’s complementary intra-resort shuttle and oceanfront beach path as well as convenient access to Pu’u Keka’a, the National Marine Whale Sanctuary, and Lahaina for further exploration into Hawaii’s natural history and culture. Wherever you look in Ka’anapali Beach Resort, our hosts from its 10 properties, starting at its southern point at the Hyatt Regency stretching along the famous beach to the Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas to the north, were clearly busy so we could slow down and settle in upon our long-awaited return. Mahalo indeed!

Hospitality Reimagined

Hōkūpa’a, the North Star, is a fitting name for The Westin Maui Resort & Spa’s newest beacon, a luxurious addition that shines brightly above the famous Kaanapali beach. Designed with the serene aesthetics of the sea, room and suite guests enjoy exclusive entry into The Lānai at Hōkūpa’a, culinary and cultural offerings reflective of Maui’s sublime environment and vibrant indigenous culture. Hōkūpa’a guests also enjoy priority booking throughout the resort, including the remodeled Heavenly Spa by Westin, yet another immersive Maui-influenced experience.

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has also been hard at work completing a multimillion-dollar renovation to all 810 guestrooms, 31 suites as well as the lobby. Deep meditative breaths come easily inside the new guestrooms featuring private lanais with glass balconies. The newly appointed rooms celebrate the Ka’anapali aesthetic with a breezy, modern design. One relaxes instantly upon arrival in the open-air lobby filled with lush plantings, exotic birdcalls, streaming natural light, and the Pacific vista.

The Royal Lahaina Resort added new deluxe cottages and a restaurant makeover to its to-do list over the past year. The oceanfront pools have also been completely redesigned and the Tower Rooms showcase yet more upgrades. The cottages harken back to days of romantic bungalow stays, replete with wood flooring, teak furnishings, and sumptuous tropical décor.

Kā’anapali Beach Hotel unfurls the first phase of property-wide renovations in the Papakū and Kauhale wings, with rooms evocative of the Hawaiian culture for which the KBH is known. The new Moanaku’inamoku Voyaging Academy, in honor of the legendary practice of Hawaiian navigation, captures the aesthetic perfectly. Huihui, a new restaurant, yawns toward the Pacific in a setting reminiscent of Hawaiian wayfinding, considered among the most revered voyaging skills in human civilization.

The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa rewards your intrepid travels at Sandbar, the first lobby bar in Kaanapali. Settle into the lobby lanai and viewing deck, part of the lobby’s total transformation. Perched atop the cliffs of Pu’u Keka’a, the Moana Oceanfront guestrooms afford unparalleled vistas of the Pacific and neighbor islands, Molokai and Lanai. The new Ohana Sundeck Suites provide direct access to the resort grounds and a 144-square foot deck appointed with lounge chairs and an expansive sitting area for family and guests.
