Nashville makes playoffs with win over Carolina

Luke Kunin scored twice and Juuse Saros made 21 saves as the Nashville Predators beat the Carolina Hurricanes 31 on Saturday night in Nashville to secure the Central Division’s fourth and final playoff berth.

Erik Haula also scored and Mikael Granlund had two assists for Nashville, which has won three of four.

With Carolina already having locked up the top spot in the Central, the Hurricanes and Predators will meet in the opening round of the playoffs.

Maple Leafs 3, Canadiens 2: Mitch Marner scored his 20th goal of the season and Toronto wrapped up its first division title since 2000, beating visiting Montreal.

Oilers 4, Canucks 3: Leon Draisaitl scored two goals in the second period to help host Edmonton beat Vancouver.

Penguins 1, Sabres 0: Jeff Carter scored and Maxime Lagace stopped 29 shots for his first career shutout as host Pittsburgh beat Buffalo to clinch the East Division title.

Avalanche 3, Kings 2: Devon Toews scored twice for his first multigoal game and Colorado defeated Los Angeles on the road.

Golden Knights 4, Blues 1: Reilly Smith recorded a hat trick as host Las Vegas defeated St. Louis.

Rangers 5, Bruins 4: Mika Zibanejad scored two of New York’s four thirdperio­d goals, and the Rangers ended their season and a fivegame losing streak with a victory in Boston.

Islanders 5, Devils 1: Brock Nelson scored twice in the second period as New York beat New Jersey in the final regular season game at Nassau Coliseum. Beginning next season, the Islanders are moving to the new UBS Arena at Belmont Park.

Senators 4, Jets 2: Rookie Tim Stutzle had his first NHL hat trick to help visiting Ottawa beat Winnipeg for its third consecutiv­e victory.

Capitals 2, Flyers 1: Lars Eller tied it with 39.8 seconds left in regulation, Conor Sheary scored the overtime winner and Washington beat visiting Philadelph­ia to guarantee it will open the playoffs at home.

Panthers 5, Lightning 1: Alex Wennberg scored three goals to lead host Florida past Tampa Bay, keeping its hopes for homeice advantage alive for the upcoming firstround playoff series between the intrastate rivals.

Wild 4, Ducks 3: Victor Rask scored 2:46 into overtime and Minnesota beat visiting Anaheim. Ducks goaltender Ryan Miller received handshakes from players of both teams after the game, his 796th and final one.

Blue Jackets 5, Red Wings 4: Max Domi scored 4:39 into overtime to lift host Columbus over Detroit in the season finale for both teams.
