Scott was born to Beverly June Eckart and Harry Raymond Buttimer, Jr. on March 8, 1961 in Oakland, CA. Amazingly, he shared the month and day of birth with his father and paternal grandmother. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s College of Moraga. He was an avid tennis player and golfer and turned his passion into a career as a buyer for several sports equipment retailers. His career took him to relocate to Houston, Atlanta, and, ultimately, Indianapolis. He then turned to a role in a small financial institution in Indianapolis. He was quite the sports enthusiast, even working at the Indy 500, loved to cook and worked a “side gig” as an assistant to caterers. He loved travel to his mother’s childhood home of Hawai’i adored his dogs and cared for neighborhood feral cats.

He is survived by his sisters Sharon Hallgrimson, Jennifer Buttimer and her husband Nick Scharf, his nephew Erik Hallgrimson, Erik’s wife Aimee and their son Gunnar.

A private family ceremony will be held in the future.
