Passed away peacefully on June 6, 2021 at the age of 93 in Sacramento, CA. Kim was born in Sacramento on August 23, 1927 to the late Yan Fong and Hom Shee Fong. She will be reunited with her loving husband Mel.

Kim graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1950 and became a dedicated dental hygienist for over 40 years. Kim was happiest when she was with family and friends and was also involved with many community services and events, including being the past President of the Chinese Hospital Auxiliary. Kim enjoyed spending time with the Yum Yum Eating Group, Square & Circle Club and her pastime included knitting, watercolor painting, reading and enjoying San Francisco city life. Predecease­d by her parents, brothers Bill (Cynthia) and William (Ruby), sisters May (Tom), Jean, Penny (Hong), Velma (Tom) and brother-in-law Bill Chan. Survived by sisters and brothers-in-laws: Gon Chan, Tuey Lowe (Albert) and Mary Yee (Jimmie). Also survived by her step-daughters Kathy Chan (Lanny), Kris Nakamoto (Toby), Kim Arentz, Melissa Tee (Boon), Lori Gin (Mark) and their families. Kim is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Kim will always be remembered for her big smile and warm heart and will be missed.

There will be no funeral or memorial services.

In lieu of any flowers, donations may be made to either On Lok in San Francisco, or Asian Community Center in Sacramento, or a charity of your choice.
