Carolyn passed away after a long illness on June 3, 2021. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Henry Bucher, Jr. and Rose Bucher. Her friends and neighbors will miss her engaging and outgoing personality. Carolyn grew up on the Peninsula and lived there as a young woman. Carolyn loved the outdoors and loved to hike on Mount Tamalpais. Above all, Carolyn loved to dance. For many years she led a dance troupe for the South San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department, teaching and putting on spectacular dance shows. She loved to watch and discuss Dancing with the Stars and ice-skating competitions. Later in her life, she moved to San Francisco to take care of her father. She met her good friend Dawn while walking around the neighborhood with her beloved dogs. Carolyn and Dawn enjoyed trips around the Bay Area and nights out at the theater. Carolyn was a member of the Stonestown YMCA for many years and loved the dance and exercise classes there. Carolyn was great friends with her neighbors. She and her father enjoyed holiday meals with their next-door neighbors Anne and Dante, and their extended family. She was also good friends with her neighbors Jane, Leif, and Ann. During her final years, Carolyn greatly appreciated the excellent care and friendship from her caregiver, Mickey.

Contributions in Carolyn’s memory may be made to the San Francisco SPCA or other animal rights organization of your choice, or Saint Anthony’s Foundation in San Francisco.
