Robin Rae Snyder

June 28, 1955 - July 12, 2021

-

Robin was born in Palo Alto, California to E. Graydon “Tod” Snyder and the former Margaret Hill. She attended Frankfurt International School in Germany, Henry M. Gunn Senior High School and De Anza College. In 1977, she was one of two women hired by the Los Altos Police Reserves, and was proud to be the first woman to have worked on patrol.

Her love of animals started early, growing up with cats, dogs, a horse and a monkey. She always made room to adopt cats and dogs, ending up with 5 cats and 5 dogs which share our home.

Robin was a very giving person, always looking to help a friend in need, either through monetary gifts or clothing.

After living in California for 63 years, she moved with her husband, Paul, and her pets to Gardnerville, Nevada. She bought the house of her dreams and loved the rural area, near South Lake Tahoe, surrounded by mountains.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Paul, her brothers Jeff and Barry, 3 nieces and nephews, and a host of lifelong friends on several continents.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Palo Alto at noon on Sat. Sept. 25, 2021.
