Marcia Ann (Sinclair) Hunt

-

Paul enjoyed art, architecture, Miles Davis, science fiction, anything French, and sports cars, and always regretted buying a Triumph instead of a Shelby Cobra as his first car.

Paul’s career as a “number cruncher” mostly focused on accounting positions in manufacturing businesses (United Engineering, DeLaval Turbine, Ron’s Machine Shop, Airco Temescal) and he held jobs ranging from accountant to Controller to Chief Financial Officer for Coulter Steel and Forge.

Once their children were in college, Paul and Dorothy traveled throughout the US and Europe. In 1994 they relocated to Granite Bay, CA where they drew on Paul’s love of architecture and built their dream home. Satisfied, they moved again to be near their daughter and grandchildren, to Fairfield, CA closer to the SF Bay Area.

Paul is preceded in death by son Henry, father Earl, mother Marguerite, brothers Earl and Johnny and his dear friend and brother-inlaw Dr. Richard Affalter of Pittsburgh.

Paul is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife and soulmate of 54 years, daughter Sarah Ball, son-in-law Jon Ball, daughter-in-law Kimberly Jacob, grandchildren Alexander Jacob, Kayley Jacob, Dylan Paul Jacob, Franklin Ball, Annie Ball and numerous family and dear friends in Pittsburgh.

Bountiful thanks to NorthBay Hospice personnel and Dr. James Long and NorthBay Cancer Center for their ongoing compassionate care for over two years.

Paul will be interred at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Lafayette, CA. Memory Book is at their website. The immediate family will celebrate a memorial when Covid conditions are more favorable.

Marcia A. Hunt, age 88, died on July 26, 2021 in her home in San Mateo after a 4 year battle with Cancer. She was born in San Francisco in 1933 and adopted by Dr. Archibald and Marcia Sinclair. She was a star vocalists at Burlingame High School, a winner of the San Francisco Civic Light Opera auditions in 1963 and went on to perform many lead roles with the Lamplighters Opera Company in San Francisco. Her daughter Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, went on to become one of the best Mezzo-Sopranos of all time before her tragic early passing in 2006. But, Marcia was the real star of the family. She sacrificed her musical career to raise her 4 children. Those of us who knew of her greatness can only wonder what could have been. She is survived by her son Stanley Sinclair Hunt, daughter in law Timilee Hunt, 4 grand children and 1 great grand child. Her larger than life personality and kindness will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
