Meriam L. Phillips
On October 27, 2021, Meriam Louise Phillips passed away peacefully at her home in San Mateo, California, after living an extraordinary 90 years.
Our family’s beloved matriarch leaves a legacy of extraordinary accomplishments & unwavering love to her family. Not to mention the best cookie recipes and you could always count on a delivery of one of her famous chicken dinners to cheer up friends. Meriam was born in Pennsylvania to parents Karl & Virginia Corey. She married Raymond Phillips and they moved to Upstate New York and then in 1973 to San Mateo, California. Meriam was owner of Ethan Allen Travel in San Mateo. She served as a member of Soroptimist International, the First Presbyterian Church in Burlingame as a Deacon & on the board of the San Mateo Symphony Orchestra. Meriam chose grace as her example to live & serve.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Phillips and is survived by her six children, Sandra Prevot, Louis Phillips, Edward Phillips, Suzy Mathers, Cindy Curran, Raymond Phillips Jr, brother Bill Corey, and 13 grand and great-grandchildren who brought her great joy and loved so dearly.
Thank you to all her wonderful caregivers & hospice for her final care & attention.
Meriam will be laid to rest at Skylawn Cemetery at a private Graveside ceremony.
