Elizabeth Agnes Cormier “Liz” (Baker)
Elizabeth Cormier, of San Francisco, passed away November 6, 2021 after battling multiple illnesses. Liz was born in Granite Falls, MN to Maude and Ralph Baker. She was the youngest of six children. She attended Granite Falls Public School, where she graduated summa cum laude. She went on to attend University of Minnesota for undergraduate and graduate school where she received her Masters in Social Work. Post college she moved to California with five graduate school friends.They loved SF so much they vowed to keep it a secret from their mid-western friends.
Liz loved everything that California had to offer and quickly got involved in Democratic Party Clubs, outdoor adventures, golf, tennis and the arts. She met Clarence Cormier on a hiking trip on Labor Day 1966, and they married December 23, that same year. They had two children Catherine Cormier Harris (Milton, GA) and Christopher Cormier (San Francisco, CA.)
Liz worked in social work for many years, eventually retiring from Kaiser Hospital.
Liz loved her church the Unitarian Universalist Church of San Francisco. She was passionate about assisting the disadvantaged and underprivileged. Liz was a season ticket holder to the SF Symphony and Opera and a huge fan of SF sports, especially the Warriors. She loved Golden Gate Park and taking walks along Lands End, which she often said was the most beautiful spot in the world.
Liz loved an adventure, and visited many places but her favorite city was Paris, which she visited numerous times.
She is survived by her daughter Catherine (Keith) and her grandchildren, Riley and Connor Harris and son Christopher Cormier (Sunita Kuneru), former husband Clarence Cormier and many nieces and nephews.

Her service will be held Saturday, December 4 at 2pm at the SF Unitarian Universalist Church.
