Michael Ingrassia and his Marin Catholic-Kentfield football teammates outdid themselves Saturday with a 42-7 North Coast Section Division 4 championship home win over Cardinal Newman-Santa Rosa.

Ingrassia accounted for 304 yards of offense and all six touchdowns as the Wildcats (12-1) won their 12th NCS title by beating the 13-time champion Cardinals, who played without Redwood Empire Player of the Year favorite Santino Azevedo — the team’s leading rusher and tackler — because of an injury.

“He’s a great player,” Marin Catholic coach Mazi Moayed said of Azevedo. “He would have made a difference.”

But probably not big enough to beat the Wildcats, who led by the final margin midway through the third quarter.

Ingrassia, who had a brillant four-season career, probably had his greatest performance, throwing touchdown passes of 39, 27 and 61 yards to Kyle McBride, Charlie Knapp and Matthew Greco, respectively. Ingrassia added TD runs of 4, 9 and 49 yards. He set up one score with a 55-yard run.

The speedy and strong 6foot-1, 205-pound senior entered with 2,342 yards passing, 31 touchdowns and no interceptions. “Still no picks,” Moayed said. “Pretty incredible.” Ingrassia also entered with 430 rushing yards and nine more scores.

“He was kind of ridiculous today,” Moayed said. “He was everywhere. Considering it’s a title game of his senior year, yes, I’d say that was his greatest game ever.”

Both lines were superb, according to Moayed, and junior linebacker Daniel O’Leary had three sacks. Newman’s Albert Beerbower had a big game on both sides of the ball and scored his team’s touchdown, a 12-yard run in the first quarter.

Division 6 Salesian-Richmond 28, Justin-Siena 26: Two touchdown runs by Nicholas Fontanilla and one each from Christian Harris and Noah Del Sol helped the host Pride (9-2) to their seventh NCS title. The Braves (7-6) fought back from a 22-0 deficit behind Zachary Zurowski. He accounted for three touchdowns.

Friday

Division 1 Pittsburg 28, Clayton Valley-Concord 14: Backup quarterback Christian Aguilar, filling in for injured four-star recruit Jaden Rashada (hamstring), threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns, two to Rashid Williams (16 and 6 yards) as the host Pirates (9-2) won their first section title since 1991.

Aguilar also completed a 45-yard touchdown throw to Zack Card, and Kai Green added a 35-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. The Pirates held Clayton Valley’s highpowered running game to 109 yards on 35 carries, though Nicholas Khashabi rushed nine times for 57 yards and a score. In five red-zone trips, the Eagles (9-4) got two field goals from Shane Nelson.

Division 3

Windsor 38, Benicia 14: Damian Escarcega rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, Chase Vehmeyer passed for 161 more and accounted for two touchdowns and Nick Fa’aghata caught a TD pass and added a pick-6 as the Jaguars (11-1) won their second NCS title and first since 2011. It was the sixth title for first-year Windsor coach Paul Cronin, who won the previous five with Cardinal Newman. Benicia finished 8-4.

Division 5

San Marin-Novato 36, Del Norte-Crescent City 0: Justin Guin rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns and Joey Cook threw for 180 yards as the Mustangs (12-1) won their fourth NCS crown, but first since 2001, by beating the visiting Warriors (10-2). Guin, who entered with 1,923 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns, scored No. 30 on a 67-yard jaunt in the first quarter.
