Passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. Survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jean Vanden Heuvel and his children, Jean (David Jelkovac) and Brian (Diane). Beloved Grandpa/Papa to Emma and Jack Jelkovac and Isabella and Sofia Macaluso. Survived by siblings Robert Macaluso and Marilyn (Tom) Gomez, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother Thomas Macaluso. Ron was born in San Francisco in 1940 to Charles and Mary and raised in the Excelsior District, where he attended Corpus Christi School. He graduated from Riordan High School in 1958 and USF in 1962, where he made life-long friends. He then went on to an esteemed career as a Manager in Informatio­n Technology at Chevron until his retirement in 1999. He and Jean traveled the world extensivel­y which he loved. Ron was a great athlete and competitor who loved nothing more than getting together with his buddies, whether it was for a round of golf or a festive pedro tournament. He was a life long avid 49ers, Giants, and Warriors fan.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made in his name to Archbishop Riordan High School (riordanhs.org) or Hanna Boys Center (hannacente­r. org)

Joan C. Risely 89, passed away in Castro Valley, CA, on December 20, 2021. After being diagnosed with Dementia in 2016, she was able to live at her home in San Francisco until mid-2019 when she moved to Castro Valley to live with her daughter, Joanne. Eventually she resided at Willow Creek Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Center where she peacefully passed away. Joan lived a full life including being married for 20 years and having three children: Bruce Risely (Patricia), David Risely (Somboon) and Joanne Blickensde­rfer. She is also survived by a nephew Mark Risely. After her children were grown, Joan enjoyed many activities, but her favorite of all time was dancing! She was an accomplish­ed ballroom dancer as well as dabbling in Square Dancing and Line Dancing. Her favorite place to spend her week was at the San Bruno Senior Center and she enjoyed assisting her favorite line dance instructor. She also enjoyed taking cruises, traveling with the AARP travel group, gambling at the casinos, and playing cards (especially bidding whist). A private service was held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. There may be a memorial service at a future date.
