Evan Rhoades

-

In San Francisco, December 12, 2021, Evan Charles Rhoades died after an unexpected cardiac event. Evan was born into an Air Force family on February 7th,1950 in Washington, D.C. Raised mainly in Marin County, he also lived briefly in Japan and Seattle WA. In 1969 he became a typically eccentric San Francisco resident, full of craziness, kindness and wit.

Evan worked for years in the Market Research industry and was also a certified massage therapist. Compassionate and spiritual, he later became a certified nursing assistant, working first with hospice patients, then the Benioff Children’s Center and finally, California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. His natural healing ability and drive to help others made this a wonderful career he truly loved.

Excelling in sports before graduating Terra Linda High School in Marin, Evan considered himself a lifelong running athlete. His many pastimes included hiking with long-time buddies “the girls,” art, philosophy, photography and joking around with friends.

In 1964 Evan was preceded in death by his little brother Gary Eckard Rhoades, who he helped care for as a child. He is survived by his loving sister Rose Rhoades of Seattle WA, along with many friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly. As this new year begins, we can honor him most appropriately by spreading light and being kind to each other.
