Most Rev. Canon Andrew Rupert Johnson, born Jersey City, NJ March 30, 1930, passed in Burlingame, CA on December 18, 2021. Andrew served others as clergy, attorney, accountant, investment advisor. Loving husband of the late MaryAnn Webster; loving father of Sandy, Rupert, Andrew, Peter, Cyrus J.D. and David M.D.; dearest grandfathe­r of Sasha, Jacob, Luke, Clare Frances, Dylan, Emma, Noa Sofia, Edith Stein, Christophe­r, Jude, Liam, Emilia (d.), Gabe, Max, Thomas; and step-grandchild­ren Nicki, Corey, Rachel, Chad, greatgrand­father of Saila, Leo and Ruby.

Fr. Andrew was ordained to the priesthood, June 5, 2004 in San Francisco. He served the people of the Archdioces­e at St. Brendan’s, St. Finn Barr and St. Thomas More Parishes. Fr. Andrew also served as a chaplain at Laguna Honda Hospital & Archdioces­e Office of Developmen­t.

Appointed Canon of the Patriarcha­l Chapter of the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem by His Beatitude Fouad Twal, Latin Patriarch, Founder, Queen of Peace Foundation, providing aid to poor children of Christian families from the Middle East.

Friends may visit Monday, January 10th from 5:00pm at St. Thomas More Church, 1300 Junipero Serra Blvd, San Francisco where a vigil service will be held at 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Archbishop Cordileone on Tuesday, January 11th at 10:00am at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, 1111 Gough St., S.F.. Burial will be next to his wife, Mary Ann in Las Vegas Nevada. Donations to the Priest Retirement Fund, 1 Peter Yorke Way, S.F. CA 94109 preferred.
