June Evelyn Larsen passed away peacefully on December 17, 2021 at age 99. She was a proud San Franciscan, born in S.F. on June 9, 1922 to Danish parents, George Larsen and Elna Pedersen Larsen. June attended Mission High School and continued on to business school. During World War II June honorably served in the Women’s Air Raid Defense of the Hawaiian Islands 7th Fighter Wing as an Air Warning Plotter. Upon her return to San Francisco she resided in the Marina District and was an Executive Secretary at the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. Upon retirement she joined the tax firm of Shattuck & Shattuck as a secretary/assistant.

June traveled extensivel­y including visiting relatives in Denmark. One memorable trip was on a 12-passenger freighter through the Panama Canal. She favored Asian Art and collected numerous miniature figures from her travels. She enjoyed cards, travel documentar­ies, movies, reading mysteries, music and bus trips with the Aldersly Garden Community where she resided for eight years. June was preceded in death by her sister, Florence and brother-in-law George Siren. She is survived by her niece, Joan Siren McVey (Dennis), nephew George Siren Jr. (Rebecca), grand nieces Erin McVey and Megan Siren, grand nephew Matthew Siren (Heather), great grand nephew Isaac Siren and great grand niece Hanne Siren. Arrangemen­ts were made through The Neptune Society and per June’s request, there will be no service. June will be interred at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma, CA in the family niche along with her mother, father and sister. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice by the Bay, San Francisco–Marin Food Bank, St. Jude’s or charity of your choice.

The family is very thankful for the loving care given to June by Aldersly staff members Summer, Gina, Melanie, Jessie, Sourabh and Vilma; and the incredible care and support given by the Hospice by the Bay team Lisa, Nerissa, Rachel and Happy.
