Scott Joseph Malman
Scott Joseph Malman was born on February 17, 1985, in Daly City, California, and passed away on December 31, 2021, in Newark, California.
Scott graduated from Saint Veronica’s Grammar School and Saint Ignatius College Preparatory and attended the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout grammar school and high school, he excelled in academics and sports and participated in community service. He received honors for rowing in high school and was recruited by the University of California, Berkeley to row on its college team.
As a Journeyman Plumber for many years with U.A. Local 467 in San Mateo County, he was a mentor to many Apprentices and willingly shared his knowledge. Unwaveringly proud of his Irish heritage and love of country, he would embrace any opportunity to express these elements with passion and enthusiasm.
Scott loved being with his family and friends, and it was reciprocated. He was loyal to them and very loving to his Grandma Helen. We all enjoyed his hugs or a laugh together with him. We will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his son, Aidan; his step-children, Nate and Charlotte; parents Ann Malman and Kenneth (Maria) Malman; brother, Greg (Dana) Malman; in-laws Robert and Hyesuk Hooks; grandmother Helen McGinty; aunts Patricia (John) Courtney and Mary McGinty; cousins Christine (Bryan) Daley, Ryan Courtney, Michael (Katie) Courtney; great-cousins Dominic and Nicole Daley. Preceded in death by his grandparents John McGinty, Norm and Greta Malman, and cousin Jeremy Johnson. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Scott’s memory to Saint Ignatius College Preparatory, 2001 37th Avenue, San Francisco, California 94116.
