Timothy John Harris

-

Tim was born in San Francisco in 1948 to Genevieve (Dolores) and Rennick Harris. He grew up in San Francisco’s, Richmond district.

Tim fought for 91 days and passed due to complications of the many medications he was being given for a very rare disease called LGI-1 autoimmune encephalitis (AE). He went peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 9:10pm at home, surrounded by his wife and daughters. A desire he expressed many times through the years. Tim knew he wanted to go into the construction trade from a young age and was gainfully employed by his uncle John O’Hare at the age of 15.

Tim settled in Santa Rosa in 1978 with his young family, his wife Vickie Kuhn and 2 daughters Kristi Harris (Jason Leibert) and Rebecca Harris (Rob Sullivan). He lost Vickie in a tragic car accident 1984 leaving his family devastated.

Tim was a proud union member of Local 751 since 1979. He worked as Foreman at the Memorial Hospital expansion in the early 1980’s, helped build the Bicentennial Way overpass along with many other projects in Sonoma County. He finished his professional career at the Bohemian Grove where he worked for almost 20 years and retired “early” in 2000.

He never really retired though, he gave generously to his family with home remodels and became a fine wood worker. His work was fastidious. Everything he touched showed that.

In 1985 he met his life partner Stephanie (Soden) Harris. They shared 36 amazing years together until his sudden passing. Together they had an extraordinary group of friends, both new and old and travelled to many places, both in the states and abroad.

Tim could talk knowledgably about almost any subject. He was a music aficionado and loved history, reading, science, the weather and most definitely politics. He especially enjoyed the wildlife he encountered as he was an avid hiker. Along with his wife, Stephanie, he prided himself on hiking every trail in Annadel State Park as well as so many trails throughout the country. Many holidays were planned around their next hike. Tim also cherished his Irish heritage.

There are so many words to describe Tim. He was generous, funny, smart, kind, gentle and a master storyteller. Truly beautiful inside and out.

Tim is survived by his brothers Ren Harris (Marilyn), Jim Harris and Greg Harris (Susan). His sister Alanna Freeman preceded him in his death. After his daughters, his pride and joy were his grandsons: Finnegan Leibert, Rennick Leibert and Mika Sullivan. He beamed with pride for each of their accomplishments. He also loved his many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Never goodbye~ Always, I’ll see you later!

A celebration of life will be announced via his PostHope site, https:/ / posthope.org/tims- journey when Omicron settles down and it is safe to be together again.
