Quakes still winless after falling on road

Luis Amarilla scored in the 32nd minute and host Minnesota United FC beat the Earthquake­s 1-0 in an MLS game Saturday night.

After Amarilla missed a chance in the 23rd minute when his chip went over the crossbar, he raced between two defenders to run onto Robin Lod’s pass from the wing, putting the ball past Quakes goalie JT Marcinkows­ki.

Amarilla now has four career

MLS goals, three of them coming against San Jose. Marcinkows­ki made four saves for San Jose (0-3-1), which will continue its pursuit of its first win April 2 when it hosts Austin.

Fire 3, Sporting KC 1: Kacper Przybylko scored two goals to help host Chicago prevail.

Przybylko scored his first goal in the 30th minute, assisted by Fabian Herbers. He added a goal in the 82nd minute, assisted

by Brian Gutierrez.

Chicago’s Xherdan Shaqiri converted a penalty kick in the in the 50th minute. It was the 30-year-old Swiss star’s first goal in MLS.

Atlanta United 3, Montreal 3: Brooks Lennon scored in second-half stoppage time to complete host Atlanta’s comeback from a two-goal deficit.

Montreal outshot Atlanta 10-7 with a 6-4 edge in shots on goal.

Union 2, NYFC 0: Alejandro Bedoya and Daniel Gazdag scored first-half goals and Andre Blake made two saves for the shutout for visiting Philadelph­ia.

FC Cincinnati 3, Inter Miami 1: Brandon Vazquez scored two

goals and assisted on another for the hosts.

Toronto FC 2, D.C. United 1:

Jonathan Osario scored in the 53rd minute to snap a tie as host Toronto won.

Orlando City 1, LA Galaxy 0:

Facundo Torres scored on a header in the ninth minute as visiting Orlando City prevailed.

Charlotte FC 3, Revolution 1:

Karol Swiderski had two goals and an assist as host Charlotte defeated New England.

Germany: Robert Lewandowsk­i scored twice as Bayern Munich beat Union Berlin 4-0 to open a seven-point lead atop the Bundesliga.

Lewandowsk­i has 31 goals in 27 games. It’s the fifth season that the Poland internatio­nal has scored 30 goals or more in the Bundesliga, a feat matched by only former Bayern great Gerd Muller.
