Alice M. Cooper

-

Alice M. Cooper, a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area for much of her life, passed away on December 9, 2021, at the age of 102, in Nampa, Idaho, where she lived close by and spent special moments with her son, Anthony “Tony” Pimentel and his wife, Patricia K Pimentel.

Alicia Margarita Flores “Alice” was born and raised in the San Francisco Bayview neighborhood and graduated from Girls High School in 1937. Alice was the eldest of four and is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Murphy. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Gabriel Flores and Albert Flores, and her parents, Vicente Flores and Isabel Ayala Flores. Alice began working at a young age, and a few of her various workplaces included: Kress’ department store, Emma Domb Fashions, and a precious metal mine in Durango, Mexico. Alice enjoyed traveling and made many trips and extended stays within and outside of the United States, namely Mexico, a country of ancestral significance and the birthplace of many close family members.

Ultimately, she rounded out her professional experience with a 30-year career in a high-security position at the Alameda Naval Air Station, where she made many close friends. During World War II, she married the late Jack Roller and helped raise his son, the late Jim Roller. Alice remained close to and is survived by Jim’s wife, Evelyn Roller. In the early 1950s, Alice married the late Donald Pimentel, and they raised their son Tony. And in 1962, she was married to the late Jerry Cooper.

She is also survived by many of her beloved, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.

The glamorous Alice was an avid golfer and creative artist; oil paint was one of her favorite mediums. Alice always enjoyed time spent with family and friends, and they treasured time with her.

Alice will be missed, and her spirit remains in our hearts.

Alice’s wishes were to donate her body to Science Care for research. As a result, a tree will be planted in the Kootenai National Forest in Montana, in her memory. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In place of flowers, donations may be made in Alice’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Paul’s Church, 221 Valley St., San Francisco, CA 94131.
