Pricilla Elizabeth Rehn Williams

Priscilla Elizabeth Rehn Williams, 92, of Charlottesville, VA passed away at her residence on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born on February 2, 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late John and Amanda Rehn.

Priscilla was a graduate of East Boston High School and attended Boston University. She worked various years for the Army Corps of Engineers and served in the U.S. embassies of Hungary and Japan. After leaving the State Department, she moved to San Francisco in the 1950’s and worked for a large law firm and later for a “wildcatter” in the oil exploration business. She loved San Francisco and devoted many years to volunteering for the local museums, film festivals, SF Opera House and SF Symphony. When her niece and twin sister moved to Charlottesville, she decided to join them and became a resident of The Colonnades.

Throughout her life, Priscilla maintained an adventurous spirit and an active calendar. She spoke several languages, and loved to experience other cultures, traveling extensively and “collecting” countries (268) rather than objects. She made friends easily, and enchanted all who knew her with her stories, wisdom and humor.

In addition to her parents, Priscilla was preceded in death by siblings Harold Hanhy, Albert Rehn, and Lilian Rehn Ferris. Priscilla is survived by her twin sister Barbara Glover and other family, including many nieces and nephews.

Priscilla requested that her remains be donated to the Virginia Anatomical Association to further studies in medicine. At her request, there will be no memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to San Francisco Symphony, Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102 or to a charity of your choice.
