Born in San Francisco and a long time resident of Daly City passed away due to heart failure. Beloved husband to wife Verna for 54 years (preceded in death), loving father to Jeffrey Alan Gochez (Nadine preceded in death), loving father to Lisa Marie Jones (Marty). Cherished and loving grandfathe­r of Christophe­r (Marina), Allison (Jeff), Stacy (Paul) and great grandfathe­r of Alex, Ivan, Zackary, Julianna and Jordyn. Brother of Carmen Aida Smith (preceded in death) cousin whom he considered a brother, Richard G Castro (preceded in death). Survived also by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to his long time care givers and friends Minda and Rey Tan. Veteran of the Korean War and after retiring from working life, Ernie enjoyed golf, traveling, spending time at Clearlake, listening to his favorite music (big bands of the 30”s and 40”s) and above all, talking to people. Very social and always smiling, you could always see him engaged in conversati­on with perfect strangers in a matter of minutes. His humor, charm and friendline­ss will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Haydee Hale passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Roy Hale. Loving mother of Rex Hale (Cristina). Caring grandmothe­r of Desiree, Destiny and Daphne Hale. Daughter of Octavio and Mary Vega (deceased). Devoted aunt, cousin and godmother to many, and a good friend to her neighbors. Haydee was born, raised and lived her entire life in San Francisco and was proud of it. Graduated from Presentati­on High School. She worked for many years as an Executive Assistant at Cal Steam until her retirement. She enjoyed the arts, gardening, cooking delicious meals and entertaini­ng family and friends. She was always up for a good adventure and had a zest for life. She lived life with so much enjoyment and fervor that was infectious to all around her which left an impact on many. Private services to follow. She especially enjoyed taking her family to see any, and all shows.

She was a lover of movies, of parties, and cooking for friends. She made many delicious meals She was a proud American and a proud San Franciscan.
