San Francisco Fire Department officials rescued four people from a vehicle that had crashed off the cliff of Point Lobos early Friday morning.

Four people — two in critical, two in stable condition — were found at the scene of the crash around 2:42 a.m., according to San Francisco Police Department officials.

The vehicle was traveling north on Point Lobos Avenue when it crossed the center lane, through a fence, and came to a rest at the bottom of a cliff — approximately 120 feet below the roadway, police said.

The vehicle was buried in the sand near Sutro Baths, Fire Department officials said. The occupants of the car were a 23-year-old man, a 22-yearold woman, a 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl, all of whom were transported to a local hospital.

It’s unclear what led the car to drive over the cliff. The vehicle was extricated from the scene later Friday morning.
